We raise pork, chicken, turkey, duck, goose, lamb, goat, and new this year
- beef.
This year, we'd like to share a portion of the meat that we raise so that
other people can take home some of the best meat there is.
What's Different about our Meat:
- We raise everything sustainably around here as much as possible. We raise
only the amount of meat that our land can take and exercise care with pasture
rotation and use our animals to eat invasive plants. We compost the bedding
from the chicken and goat houses for use in the garden next year and our pigs
till up our gardens in the winter. We try to keep our mini-ecosystem in balance in
the best interest of the animals and the environment.
- Our animals are raised outside in the sunshine, playing in the dirt, and getting a
well rounded diet of grass, bugs, roots, and rocks (the pigs love eating stones).
We rotate our pastures so that our sheep get fresh grass to chew on and it
reduces flock diseases, therefore reducing antibiotic use.
- We feed our animals well, with grain from non-GMO sources as much as
possible. They also get garden scraps and kitchen scraps for a balanced diet.
- We spend time with our animals, giving them care and attention as needed to
provide them with the highest quality of life around.
- Our finished product is flavorful, high quality meat that you can feel good about.
The balanced diet of grass and grain gives the meat the perfect finish while
being environmentally conscious.

How it Works:
We are taking sign ups now so we know how much to raise this year. Shares must
be purchased early as we raise meat based on how many signups we have. The
price per share will go towards feed, fencing, care, and purchase of the stock for this
year. Payment should be made at time of ordering, or we can work out a payment
plan such as $50 per month until the final amount is met.
The meat will be ready for pickup with the first installment hopefully around
mid-September, the second batch in October and the third in November. This is
based on how fast everything grows, but I would imagine the chickens will be ready
in September, the lamb, goat and pork that's not smoked will be ready in October.
The smoked pork, beef and turkey should be ready in November. This will help keep
things in order in your freezer so you don't get a ton of meat all at once.
When you purchase a share, you are buying part of our pigs, lambs, chickens, and
beef cow. We will split it among the shares from there. Shares will have a blend of
cuts. This means that no share will have all prime cuts like steaks, ham, ribs, and
chicken breast, but rather a bit of hamburger, sausage, a couple steaks, some roast,
and the whole chicken. For example, a side of beef is about 25% waste, 25% roasts,
25% stew meat and ground beef, and 25% steaks. The pounds specified per
package would have these represented percentages.
